PROJECTS

The MeshGround dives into a discipline-based dance training and critical discourses, engaging student artists and movement practitioners with a holistic experience, valuing their individual voice to develop critical movement perspectives and examine the multiple dimensions of human existence. This provides students with strategies/tactics/tools to diverse pathways, expanding the ways they can access and think about movement physically, artistically, and educationally.

 

Program Objectives

We have developed four essential learning goals that help to shape the platform’s curriculum:

  • Sustainability – Students will be immersed in anatomically sound training that weaves historical and emerging forms through a somatic understanding

  • Creativity – students will develop tools and ideas with regards to “creating” and “making” dance as well as apply knowledge to fields outside of dance

  • Relationality – students will engage with the world through a multiplicity of lenses individually and collectively

  • Collectivity – students will build relationships and develop networks through consistent interactions with artists in the art world locally and globally
